Dune Digital has two complementary alert systems:
  • Event Rules (Host OS / Hash Streams) — operator-configured rules that trigger actions across your fleet, such as sending a notification or firing a webhook when a threshold is crossed.
  • Customer Smart Alerts (Customer Portal) — per-customer alerts that hosted customers configure themselves to monitor their own equipment.

Event rules (operator)

Event rules run on a continuous schedule. When the defined condition is met for the sustained period you specify, the rule fires its configured actions.

Create an event rule

Open the event rules list

Navigate to Mining Control → Event Rules (or Hash Streams → Event Rules) and click Create Rule.

Name and describe the rule

Give the rule a clear name and an optional description. Both are visible in the rules table and in alert notifications, so use something that makes the problem obvious at a glance — for example, Hashrate Below 90% — S19 Fleet.Set the Severity:
  • Warning — informational, shown in yellow
  • Critical — urgent, shown in red and triggers escalation if configured

Set the scope

Choose which miners the rule applies to:

You can also exclude individual pieces of equipment from a rule using the Exclude Equipment option.

Configure the trigger condition

Choose the metric to monitor and the threshold that should trigger the rule:
Fires when a miner’s hashrate falls below a percentage of its rated spec. For example, trigger when hashrate drops below 90% of the expected value for more than 5 minutes.
Fires when a miner stops reporting data (status becomes offline or lost). Use a short sustained window (1–2 minutes) to catch reboots versus a longer window (15+ minutes) to catch genuine failures.
Fires when chip or board temperature exceeds a threshold. Normal operating range is 65–85°C; a threshold of 95°C gives headroom before thermal throttling.
Fires when a miner’s measured power consumption deviates significantly from the expected draw based on its spec — useful for catching firmware issues or failing power supplies.
Configure the Sustained Minutes setting — the condition must remain true for this duration before the rule fires. This prevents false positives from brief fluctuations.Set the Cooldown Minutes — the minimum time that must pass before the rule can fire again for the same issue.
Recommended thresholds for a stable fleet:
  • Hashrate: alert below 90% of rated spec, sustained 5 minutes, cooldown 15 minutes
  • Temperature: alert above 95°C, sustained 3 minutes, cooldown 10 minutes
  • Offline: alert after 10 minutes offline, cooldown 30 minutes

Configure actions

Add one or more actions for the rule to perform when it fires:

For webhooks, provide the URL. Optionally provide a signing secret; the platform adds an X-Alert-Signature HMAC-SHA256 header so you can verify the payload on your server.

Save and enable the rule

Click Save. New rules are enabled by default.Back on the rules list you can:
  • Test the rule (flask icon) — runs a dry-run to show how many miners are in scope and how many would trigger right now, without actually sending notifications
  • Snooze — temporarily silence the rule for 1, 4, 8, or 24 hours (useful during maintenance)
  • Duplicate — create a copy to use as a template for a similar rule
  • Enable / Disable — toggle the rule on or off

Manage existing rules

The rules table shows key statistics for each rule:
  • Miners in scope — how many miners the rule currently monitors
  • Total triggers — how many times the rule has fired in its lifetime
  • Last triggered — when the rule last fired
  • Consecutive failures — how many times the rule has errored internally (shown in red if above zero)
Rules that exceed a consecutive failure limit are automatically disabled to prevent alert storms.

Customer smart alerts (Customer Portal)

Hosted customers can configure their own performance alerts from within the Customer Portal at Alerts → Create Alert.

What customers can configure

Customers create Smart Alerts that monitor three metric types:

For each alert, customers configure: Equipment scope — which miners to monitor:
  • All equipment across all contracts
  • Equipment under a specific contract
  • A manually selected list of individual machines
Timing:
  • Delay before alerting — how long the condition must persist before a notification is sent (0–60 minutes, in 5-minute steps). Setting a delay of 5 minutes avoids false positives from brief dips.
  • Cooldown between alerts — minimum time between repeat notifications for the same issue (30 minutes to 24 hours).
  • Auto-reset — when enabled, the alert clears automatically once values return to normal and stay there for a configurable duration.
Notification channels:
  • Email — sent to the customer’s registered email address
  • Webhook — JSON payload posted to a custom HTTPS endpoint. Customers can add an optional signing secret for HMAC-SHA256 verification. Use Send Test Webhook to verify the endpoint is reachable before saving.
  • Telegram — sent to a Telegram channel or group chat via a bot token and chat ID

Alert history and acknowledging alerts

Open Mining Control → Event Log to see a full history of all fired rules, including which miners triggered each event.
  • Click an event to see details: timestamp, affected miners, and the specific metric value that triggered the rule.
  • Acknowledge an event to mark it as seen and remove it from the active alert queue.
  • Use the filters to narrow by rule, severity, site, or time range.
Event history is retained for 90 days. For longer retention, configure a webhook action to forward events to your own logging or observability platform.
