HashGuard™ is an automatic performance-protection layer built into the Dune Digital Marketplace. When equipment on a HashGuard-enabled listing underperforms relative to the contracted threshold, TH/s credits are issued automatically and applied to your next invoice. You do not need to file a claim or open a support ticket.

How it works

Monitor

Continuous hashrate monitoring measures your equipment’s output against the performance thresholds defined in your hosting contract. Monitoring runs 24/7 via the seller’s site agent and requires no action from you.

Detect

When your equipment’s hashrate falls below the seller-defined degraded or offline threshold, a HashGuard event is automatically triggered. Each seller configures their own thresholds — most set “degraded” at 80–90% of rated hashrate and “offline” at 10% or below.

Credit

Credits are issued in TH/s based on the gap between your contracted hashrate and actual output during the event. The value is determined by multiplying the credited TH/s by the hashprice on the day the event occurs. Credits are applied directly to your next billing invoice — automatically, with no forms to submit.

Yes. Your customer dashboard includes a full HashGuard event log. Each event entry shows its duration, credited TH/s, the hashprice used for valuation, and the resulting invoice credit amount.
HashGuard credits do not apply during scheduled curtailment events. Curtailment is a planned operational decision and is excluded from service credit eligibility. Only unplanned performance drops trigger credits.
No. Credits require active monitoring data. If the seller’s site monitoring agent is non-operational, the system cannot verify equipment performance and credits will not accrue during that period.

Finding HashGuard-protected listings

Not all marketplace listings include HashGuard. Look for the green HashGuard shield badge on listing cards. You can also filter to show only protected listings:
  • On the main marketplace browse page, enable the HashGuard filter
  • Or navigate directly to /marketplace/home?hashguard=true
On a listing detail page, the HashGuard badge appears in the header badge row. Hash contract listings with HashGuard also display it as a benefit in the listing description panel.

Configure per-contract thresholds

In your HostOS dashboard, set the hashrate percentage that defines “degraded” and “offline” status for each contract. You can also set credit caps and exclusion rules. Different contracts can have different thresholds.

Enable monitoring

HashGuard requires your site agent to be running and reporting data. Monitoring is continuous and fully automated once the agent is online.

Enable on listings

When creating or editing a listing, toggle HashGuard on and set the monthly HashGuard cost (if you charge buyers a fee for the coverage). This fee is added to the listing price at checkout.

Monitor via analytics

Your HostOS HashGuard analytics dashboard shows all events across your fleet: event duration, credited TH/s, compensation issued, and per-equipment health grades (A through F based on uptime and event history).

If the monitoring agent goes offline, credits do not accrue during that period. This protects you from false credit claims caused by data gaps.
